When a fan pre-save subscribes to receive future releases in their music library, Linkfire enables the ability to notify them by email only when we’ve successfully added the release to their library.
This transactional email confirms that the fan's action—subscribing to your release—has been completed. It’s not a marketing message. It’s a confirmation of an event, sent at the exact moment the release becomes available on their selected music service.
When Is the Email Sent?
A Pre-save Delivery email is sent to a fan only when all of the following conditions are met:
- Pre-save Delivery Notifications are enabled in your Artist Workspace settings under Fan Notifications
- The fan either:
- Subscribed to receive future releases via a pre-save link, or
- Pre-saved a specific release via a Linkfire pre-save link
- Linkfire successfully added your release to the fan’s streaming library on release day
That’s it. The email is triggered only after the add-to-library action is completed—never before.
Because Linkfire facilitates the connection between the fan and their music service, we have precise, real-time insight into when this action occurs. That means fans receive a confirmation email only when your release is live and delivered to their library—ensuring accuracy and avoiding early or irrelevant messaging.
Why Use This Feature?
- Fans receive real-time confirmation the moment your release is live.
- No guesswork or early emails—we send only once the music is in their library.
- It’s fully automated and requires no extra setup after your pre-save is live.
- It complements your streaming strategy by boosting release-day plays.
Can I Disable These Emails?
Yes. If you’re running your own email campaign or using a different CRM system, you can disable Pre-save Delivery Notifications:
- Navigate to your Artist Workspace Settings > Fan Notifications
- Toggle off Pre-save Delivery
Even if disabled, Linkfire still handles the add-to-library action. You’re just choosing to handle the communication separately.
Pre-save Delivery Example Email
Fans receive a clean, on-brand email that confirms the release has been successfully added to their music library and includes a direct link to start listening.
All Pre-save Delivery Notification emails are sent from a fan-facing Linkfire domain, formatted as:
[Artist Name] via Fan Connect <no-reply@fanconnect.to>
These emails are:
- Fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy standards
- Transactional only — triggered by a fan’s direct action
- Include a clear unsubscribe link, giving fans the option to opt out of future notifications from that artist
Supported Services
Pre-save Delivery Notifications are supported on:
- Spotify
- Amazon Music
Deezer
Note: Email notifications are only sent if the fan’s email address was successfully collected during the pre-save process. For some DSPs, this data is provided directly as part of the pre-save authorization.
Platform Limitations
- Apple Music: We do not receive email addresses from Apple Music pre-saves, which limits our ability to send release-day emails for these fans.
- YouTube Music and TIDAL: Email collection is not yet available—but coming soon. Once supported, this will increase email delivery rates and strengthen day-one streaming performance.
We’re actively working to expand full email compatibility across all supported platforms.
