Please note that the below is only relevant to our UMG customers.
Linkfire has developed a scrollable carousel to showcase up to 6 products on a Linkfire landing page.
This feature seamlessly integrates available products from UMG’s global Shopify feed.
The carousel functions like any other service, allowing its placement to be adjusted on a landing page.
It is an excellent tool to spotlight your artists’ merchandise and products.
Note: This functionality is exclusively accessible on release links.
How to add the Shopify carousel to your release links?
As per any other service, the ‘UMG Shopify Carousel’ service can be added in two ways:
Option 1: Added to ‘services’ under board settings
This means Linkfire will scan for products on every newly created link.
Please note: If multiple territories have been configured on the board settings, the Shopify carousel will need to be added to all the territories where you’d like the fans to view that specific carousel.
1. Click ‘Create link’, and choose ‘Release link’ type.
2. Add a scanning source as usual. This can be a UPC, ISRC, or URL to a product on a DSP.
3. Linkfire will automatically scan for available products in the global Shopify feed delivered daily by the UMG Global E-comm team when your scanning source identifies the artist.
4. Go to the link edit section.
5. Go to the ‘Merchandise’ section at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
6. If products are found, they will be displayed here under ‘Preview’.
If no products are found, you will see an option to ‘Rescan’. If there are no results or the products shown are not the expected ones, please reach out to the UMG Global E-comm team for further information.
7. The territory dropdown will allow you to view the product selection for each territory where products were found.
8. Use the drop-down menu to choose from the three ‘Product Sorting Options’. Changing the selection will rescan for products (based on your sorting option selected) and the preview will be updated with the new selection.
9. To ensure that changes to the product selection are reflected on the landing page, remember to save your link by clicking ‘Update’ in the top-right corner before exiting.
10. To configure the position of the carousel, go to ‘Landing page’ from the left-hand menu and drag the service into the desired position. This can be configured on a territory-by-territory basis.
11. The carousel will automatically be shown in the territories with the service added in board settings. To remove it from any given territory, click the deactivate icon next to the service. To add the service to a territory, click on the ‘Inactive’ tab under services and click ‘Activate’ next to the UMG Shopify Carousel service.
Option 2: Added on a link-by-link basis
1. While in the ‘Edit’ section of a link, click ‘Add service’ at the top of service destinations and search for ‘UMG Shopify Carousel’.
2. If the link was created as a draft and no scanning source was added during its creation, add a source to the ‘Link source’ field under ‘General.’ This can be a UPC, ISRC, or URL to a product on a DSP.
3. Go to the ‘Merchandise’ section at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
4. Click 'rescan' products.
5. If products are found, they will be displayed here under ‘Preview’. If no products are found, you will see an option to ‘Rescan.’ If there are no results or the products shown are not the expected ones, please reach out to the UMG Global E-comm team for further information.
6. The territory dropdown will allow you to view the product selection for each territory where products were found.
7. ‘Default’ from the territory dropdown shows the products that will be shown to visitors from anywhere that territory-specific products were not found.
8. Use the drop-down menu to choose from the three ‘Product Sorting Options’. Changing the selection will rescan for products (based on your chosen sorting option), and the preview will be updated with the new selection.
9. If the product selection is changed, you must save your link by clicking ‘Update’ in the top-right before exiting for the changes to be shown on the landing page.
10. To configure the position of the carousel, go to ‘Landing page’ from the left-hand menu and drag the service into the desired position. This can be configured on a territory-by-territory basis.
11. The carousel will automatically appear in all territories. To remove it from any given territory, click the deactivate icon next to the service.
Which countries and stores can use the feed?
All territories using the centrally managed Shopify store solution will be visible within the product feed. When a fan clicks on the Landing page, if a store is locally available, products from the local store will be visible. Where no local store is present, the US Stores will be visible. Individual Artist / Band stores are currently visible within the feed. However, Megastores and Label Stores will also begin to see products becoming visible in the future.
How are products selected?
When products are first scanned, the default setting is to showcase the three best-selling music products and the three best-selling merchandise products over the last 12 months. Out-of-stock products will not be selected.
Within the ‘Merchandise’ settings in the link edit page, users can rescan products based on best-selling music products or best-selling merchandise products only. Depending on your choice, this option will pull in six best-selling music or merchandise products.
The product sorting option will also be saved when the link is saved by clicking ‘Update’ in the top-right corner.
Rescanning
If a link has the Shopify carousel with products, we will automatically rescan the Shopify feed daily and update products based on the same sorting option, ensuring that products that are no longer in stock are replaced with others.
